correctjye Procedure
1. Park the vehicle in the designated repair area and apply the parking brake, turn
off the ignition, chock the rear wheels, disconnect the batteries, and perform any
other applicable safety steps .

WARNING:

PERSONAL INJURY
To avoid injury when removing or installing a heavy engine component, ensure the
component is properly supported and securely attached to an adequate lifting device to
prevent the component from falling.

2. Lift the Coach up, then support the front axle securely on jack stands.
3. Remove the ½" blue air line from the air bag.
4. Remove the bolts at top of the air bag through the rail.
5. Loosen the sway bar bolts from the sway bar bracket and remove the bolts.
6. Push the sway bar forward to gain access to the sway bar mounting bracket.
7. Loosen the axle mounting bolts.
8. Remove the nuts on the two front axle mounting bolts.
9. Remove the sway bar mounting bracket from the front two axle mounting bolts on
the front side of axle.
10. Lift the Coach up enough to remove the air bag, spring plate, and spacer plate.
11. Remove the two remaining nuts on the axle mounting bolts.
12. Remove the air bag, spring plate, and spacer.
13. Remove the nut on bottom of the air bag.
14. Remove the spring plate.

15. Remove the four axle mounting bolts and discard.
16. For vehicles in Population C, skip to step 19. For vehicles in Populations A and
B, continue to the next step.
17. For vehicles in Population A or B, remove the old sway bar, stay rods, mounts,
and discard.

18. For vehicles in Population A or B, drill two new holes in the frame side flange for
Stay Rod Bracket P/N: 16-20587-000. Note that the dimensions are different for
Population A and B. See Figure 1 below.

19. Replace with new axle mounting bolts.
20. Reinstall the spring plate.

21. Align the flat edge of the spring plate with the top mounting bracket on the air
bag. Tighten nut to correct torque as noted on the drawings.
22. Remove spacer plate P/N: 16-18338-000.

23. Install the new sway bar mounting bracket between the spring and axle where
the spacer plate used to be located.
24. Align the new sway bar mounting bracket on the dowel pin and bolt holes.
25. Install the air bag.

26. Lower the chassis on to the air bag.
27. Align the bolts through the sway bar mounting bracket and front axle.

28. Check to ensure that the dowel pin is in the front axle and spring.
29. Hang the new sway bar on mounting bolts (use all new hardware).
30. Pull the sway bar forward before tightening the bolts. Note that the sway bar
bushing bracket should not touch the axle.
31. Install the new nuts on the axle mounting bolts.
32. Tighten up all connections evenly and to the correct torque as noted on the
drawings.
33. Install new bolts, nuts, and washer in top of the air bag.
34. Check to make sure that the air bag is in FULL contact with the bottom of the
frame rail.

35. Tighten up the bolts in the airbag.
36. Reconnect the air line to the air bag.
37. For vehicles in Population C, skip to step 41. For populations A and B, continue
to steps 38-40.

38. Install the new stay rod brackets to the frame rail.

39. Install the new stay rods to the brackets and to the sway bar.
40. Tighten up evenly and torque to specifications as noted on the drawings.

AwARNING:
PERSONAL INJURY
To avoid injury when removing or installing a heavy engine

41. Raise Coach and remove jack stands under steer axle.

AwARNING:
ENGINE EXHAUST
To avoid injury from inhaling engine exhaust, always operate the
engine in a well-ventilated area. Engine exhaust is toxic.

AwARNING:
PERSONAL INJURY
To avoid injury before starting and running the engine, ensure
the vehicle is parked on a level surface, parking brake is set, and
the wheels are blocked.

42. Lower Coach, start engine, and check for any air leaks.
43. Repairs are complete.
