Midtronics VAS6161 Battery Tester

The battery test cable on the Midtronics model VAS6161 Battery Tester has been redesigned due to cracking issues

found with the battery test clamp (Old Midtronics model A246 battery test cable). A new redesigned VAS6161 battery

test cable with redesigned battery test clamp (New Midtronics model A246 battery test cable) is now in production.

Volkswagen dealers that have purchased a VAS6161 Battery Tester will be shipped the new redesigned

Midtronics model A246 battery test cable free of charge from Snap-On Business Solutions (freight pre-paid).

Volkswagen dealers that have multiple VAS6161 units will receive a replacement cable for each VAS6161

tester purchased.

New VAS6161 Battery Testers purchases from Snap-On Business Solutions (SBS) now include the new

redesigned model A246 battery test cable (from November 1, 2013 forward).

Shipment of the new Midtronics model A246 battery test cables is expected to commence November 24th,

2014 from Snap-On Business Solutions.

can be identified by two screws holding the

contact teeth on clamp (silver and gold).

All new Midtronics model A246 battery test

cables have date tag attached (YY, MM) at wire

junction. This date will be between Nov. 2013

and today.
