Multiple DTCs Set When Using Scan Tool Device
Models:
2013 Cadillac ATS

2010 - 2013 Cadillac SRX

This PI was superseded to update model and model years. Please discard PIC5741.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern

Multiple DTCs set and Instrument Panel Self-Test/WOW occurs when the MDI is plugged into the vehicle's

Diagnostic Link Connector (DLC). This condition may be aggravated by slightly wiggling the connection at the DLC.

This can be caused by a poor electrical connection to the MDI caused by spread terminals in the DLC. Most

frequently, DLC ground terminals 4 & 5 are the culprit, however, but it could be the positive connections as well.
Recommendation/Instructions

Check for spread terminals using J-35616-14 (Green) diagnostic test probe. Replace terminals as needed.

For vehicles repaired under warranty, please use the appropriate warranty labor operation based on the actual

cause and repair. The latest version of bulletin 10-00-89-005: "Warranty Administration - Revised Wiring Repair

Labor Operations and Required Additional Information" can be used as a reference.
