1. Verify shifter mechanism is within specification and adjust accordingly if necessary. ELSA>>
Transmission>> Description and Operation>> Selector Mechanism, Adjusting. Recheck for the
concern. If the concern is no longer present, no further repairs are needed.
2. Verify all shift rods are in good working condition.
3. If concern is still present, remove the transmission according to instructions in ELSA.

4. Replace the 5 -6 gear shift fork and ball
sleeve (Item 4 and 5, Figure 1) and the
gear shift unit (Item 6 Figure 1) per
instructions in ELSA: Transmission>>

Tip: When replacing the shift fork and ball sleeve, no further disassembly of input shaft is
required.

5. Reinstall transmission and verify proper operation.
