There are special service instructions to be performed on all Model Year 2014 A6, A7, Q5, and Q7 vehicles before
the vehicles are delivered to customers.

Technical Background
When performing PDI inspections on vehicles delivered from November 2013 - February 2014, please prepare the
vehicles for delivery with a special focus on the areas listed in this bulletin. These checks can be performed during
the normal PDI inspection process.

Service
The Service steps below are sorted by model. Refer to the appropriate section for the model that is being
inspected.

For 2014 A6 and A7:
✔ Check Brakes for Pulsation/Vibration (3.0T engines only):
• If vibration or pulsation is felt while
braking (in brake pedal or in entire
vehicle) at speeds higher than 20
mph, put the vehicle on a lift and
inspect the brake discs for pad marks
(Figure 1).
• Replace only those brake discs that
have pad marks (Figure 1). Use the
following part numbers:
• Front brake disc: 4G0615301A
• Rear brake disc: 4H0615601H

For 2014 Q5:
✔ Check for Rattle Noise in Driver Side Door or Dash:
• During test drive, drive over a bumpy road. If a rattling or buzzing noise is heard from the dash area, refer
to instructions in TSB 2035626: Rattle noise from driver side door or dash area.
✔ Check for Brake Squeal from Front Brakes (Non-Hybrid Vehicles only):
• If a squealing sound is heard when brakes are applied lightly when the vehicle is driven at a low speed,
submit a PSS ticket under the topic PSS 46 Brake noise (non-hybrid vehicles).

✔ Check for Wind Noise:
• If wind noise is heard from the exterior rear view mirrors (typically heard at highway speeds), refer to TSB
2035673: 66 Wind noise from exterior rear view mirror.

For 2014 Q7:
✔ Check for EVAP Leak DTC in Engine Control Module (ECM) (3.0T engines only):
• Use ODIS to check the DTC memory of the ECM, J623 (address word 01) for the following DTCs:
• DTC P0456 (EVAP System Leak Detected (very small leak))
• DTC P0442 (EVAP System Leak Detected (small leak))
• If either DTC is present, replace the Leak Diagnostic Pump (LDP).
• Use the following part number:
• LDP: 7L8906271A
✔ Check A Pillar Trim:
• If the A pillar trim on either side of the vehicle
is loose or ill-fitting as shown at right (Figure
5), replace the trim.

• When installing the new trim make certain
that the assembly support strap is not trapped
or pinched between the adapter and the A
pillar structure (Figure 6).
