Delayed start-off from standstill and/or relaxation lurch when coming out of the power-free state, or jolt when brakes

are released (switch-on process).
Cause:

Power-free in gear range D (KID) function.

Function sequence inside the transmission when KID is active:

The VGS reduces the flow at the control solenoid valve of brake 82 (VGS) until the shift pressure is reduced via the

regulating valve 82 and BR to the level of a backpressure spring , changing the multidisk brake 82 to a state of controlled slip. This leads to a reduction in the transmission output torque while the vehicle is stationary and reduces fuel

consumption.

Remedy:

Please perform the following activity for a "delayed start-off' complaint:

Install software with Xentry and add-on 1579 for DVD 07/2010 or higher.

Model series 207 with OM642: Deactivated in S transmission mode and optimized in E

Model series 212 with OM642: Deactivated in S transmission mode and optimized in E

Model series 212 with OM642 and 4MATIC: Optimized in Sand E transmission mode

Please perform the following activity for a "relaxation lurch" complaint:

Do not replace any components. Check via actual values in Xentry whether the complaint occurs with KID activation/deactivation.

If a KID complaint is not present, please create a TIPS case .

ENTRY

If a KID complaint is present, please proceed as follows: Grease the sliding piece of the drive shaft. To do so,

detach the shaft, clean the gearing and apply a very generous coating of grease to it. Make sure that the seals

are greased also. If it is only applied to the splines, the sealing will simply "wipe off' a major portion of the grease.

Please perform the following activity for the "Jolting when brake disengaged (gear engagement process)" complaint

(X204 with OM651 only):

Install software with Xentry and add-on 1416 for DVD 01/2010 or add-on 1417 for DVD 03/2010 or higher.
