Complaint:

Incorrect alignment of the seat belt retractor on the passenger side can make ii slow to roll up
Cause:

Seat belt retractor on passenger side is slow to roll up.
Remedy:

Correctly align passenger-side seat belt retractor with bodyshell and fix in place

1. Disconnect ground line from battery (AR54.1 O-P-0003NKB}

2. Remove/install right door sill (AR68.30-P-4100NKB}

3. Remove/install B-pillar trim (AR68.30-P-4700NKB}

4. Slacken seat belt retractor mounting bolt, align seat belt retractor vertically with bodyshell and fix in place. (Figure

1)

Important: Tighten threaded connections between seat belt retractor and B-pillar belt strap to 35 Nm.

Check seat belt retractor: (Figure 2)

The seat belt must be pulled out all the way until the child safety lock function is activated (a specific chattering can be

heard) and then allowed to roll up.

If the belt strap is retracted normally without a delay (longer than 15 seconds), then the work has been completed successfully. If not, check seat belt retractor for proper operation and realign if necessary.
