Cause:

After heatsoak, ESA is inoperative.

Root cause of issue is under investigation

Background Information:

Vehicle sat for a long time prior to issue happening

Very hot day

If you let the CAN bus go to sleep for a short period of time, the issue will still be present

If you let the vehicle sleep for a long period of time, functionality will resume If you pull the plug to the ESA (on

the front of the ESA, where it's getting power), then plug the ESA back in, functionality will resume
Remedy:

ESA"s power supply will be changed from ckt 30g to ckt 30.

1.
Identify one unused ckt30 fuse if only the drivers seat is an electric seat. Identify a second unused ckt30 fuse if

the passenger seat is also an electric seat.

The following is a list of locations that may be unused depending on the options for your vehicle:

f88 (ECO Stop/start)

f89 (Electric Parking Brake)

f90 {Electric Parking Brake)

f7 4 (Keyless Go)

f92 (connector 11 Ron AMG vehicles)

2. Install one (or two) fuse holder(s) part #211 545 16 01 into rear SAM at the fuses locations identified in the

previous step.

3. Move fuse(s) to the new holder(s).

4. Move the power wire(s) for the ESA to the new fuse holder.

Please note that this LI document will be updated in the future to provide a solution for the 172, as there are nosecond spare fuse locations for the ck! 30 for the passenger seat!
