Complaint:
Noises from the cushion frame or seat adjuster
Important note: Also perform the remedial actions if you are performing further work on
- the cushion frame (91A27, 91N27)
- the seat adjuster (91030) so that follow-up repairs can be ruled out at an early stage.
When performing the work, take into account the VIN end number and the production breakpoint.

Cause:
Relative movements can lead to noises and play.
The front bearing shells of the seat cushion shell (PIC_ 1) allow the seat cushion a certain amount of play.
The cracking noise occurs between the plastic bearing and the cross-connection pipe.

Remedy:
For vehicles up to VIN end number
- Model series 169: up to# 148889
- Model series 245: up to # 005018
the clip-type spacer rings must be retrofitted or checked as follows:
1. Move the problem seat all the way up and all the way back.
Important: The front seat cushion bearings must be accessible (PIC_1)
2. Remove both bolts in the cushion shell bearing and lift the cushion shell up slightly.
3. Left side
a) with mechanical seat adjuster:
Guide the cam clip {PIC_2) from the rear and install with the opening pointing toward the front.
Note: The cam (PIC_4, item 1) must always point toward the outside. Push the cam clip with cam into the V-profile
and make sure that it firmly rests against the V-profile.
b) with electrically adjustable seat:
Guide the cam clip {PIC_2 el, arrow) from the front over the outer link rod and install with the opening pointing toward
the rear.
Note: The cam (PIC_4, item 1) touches at the front.
4. Right side
a) with mechanical seat adjuster:
Guide the cam clip {PIC_3) from the front over the outer link rod and install with the opening pointing toward the rear.
Note: The cam (PIC_4, item 1) must always point toward the outside. Push the cam clip with cam into the V-profile
and make sure that it firmly rests against the V-profile.
b) with electrically adjustable seat:

Guide the cam clip (PIC_3 el, arrow) from the front over the outer link rod and install with the opening pointing toward
the rear.
Note: The cam (PIC_4, item 1) touches at the front.

5. After installing the cam clips, grease the bearing surfaces of the bearing shells and reinstall with the bearing
clamps.
Note· Tightening torque of bearing clamps on front cushion shell mounting· 2 5 Nm
