Front Seat Cushion Cover Appears To Be Cut Or Torn
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the front seat cushion cover.

2012 - 2013

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after April 30, 2012 (MOH 0430.XX)
and on or before February 25, 2013 (MOH 0225XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may observe the edge of the seat cushion cover side fabric panel exposed
above the edge of the plastic side shield giving the appearance that the seat is cut or torn.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the Symptom/Condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the front seat(s) with visible side panel fabric causing the customer concern.
Refer to the detailed repair procedures available in: DealerConnect> TechCONNECT
under: 23 - Body> Seats, Front> SEAT> Removal (Fig. 1).

Remove the previous design seat cushion cover (1) to be replaced with the current
design seat cushion cover (2). Refer to the detailed repair procedures available in:
DealerConnect> TechCONNECT under: 23 - Body> Seats, Front> COVER, Seat
Cushion> Removal (Fig. 2).

Install the new current design seat cushion cover following the installation procedure
available in TechCONNECT with the following changes in procedure to the outboard
facing side fabric panel. Refer to the detailed repair procedures available in:
DealerConnect> TechCONNECT under: 23 - Body> Seats, Front> COVER, Seat
Cushion> Installation.
4. Install the inner more rearward fabric panel (1) in front of the seat frame (4) and behind
the upper steel wire (2) as shown (Fig. 3).
5. Install the seat cover retainer (3) over the upper steel wire (2) (Fig. 3).

Install the slit of inner fabric panel rear flap (4) over the lower steel wire (5) (Fig. 4).
The outer more forward fabric panel (1) covers the upper steel wire (3) (Fig. 4).
The push-pin (7) secures the outer and inner fabric panels (1,2) to the seat frame (6)
(Fig. 4).

Install the front seat(s) previously removed. Refer to the detailed repair procedures
available in: DealerConnect> TechCONNECT under: 23 - Body> Seats, Front> SEAT>
