Dealers must perform this Service Campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail
delivery.
When a vehicle arrives at the Service Department, access Hyundai Motor Ame rica's "Warranty
Vehicle Information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open Campaigns .

Description: On certain 2014MY- 201 SMY Equus (VI) vehicles , the hinge on the rear center console
armrest may split. This bulletin describes the procedu re to replace the rear center console armrest lid .

Service Procedure
1

Remove negative battery terminal from battery.

2.

Remove the rear seat cushion (A) on both sides .

3.

Separate the rear seat back (B) from the body on
both sides to secure the work space to remove
the rear seat armrest.

For information regarding
removal of the seat cushion and
back, please refer to the
applicable workshop manual.

Disconnect the connectors (C , D).

5.

Remove the armrest mounting bolts (E) and
nut (F) on both sides and then remove the
armrest (G) .

Place a clean cloth underneath
armrest console to protect
leather in case surroundings are
dirty.
Tightening Torque: 14.5 - 18.1 lbft (19.6 - 24.5 Nm, 2.0 - 2.5 kgf.m)

Remove the screw located at the white
rectangle area and then remove the hinge
cover (H) .

7.

Remove the armrest board mounting nut (I).

Tightening Torque: 7.2 - 8.7 lb-ft
(9.8 - 11.8 Nm, 1.0 - 1.2 kgf.m)

8.

Remove the armrest frame (J) mounting
bolts (white rectangle) and then remove the
clips (white arrow)

Tightening Torque: 3.6 - 4.3 lb-ft
(4.9-5.9 Nm, 0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m)

Separate the armrest board (K) and the box (L).

10.

Cut both zip ties (white box)

When reinstalling, do not forget
to install new ties at the same
position. Failure to do so will
cause lid to not open properly.

Remove the screws.

Remove the screws and then disconnect the ~~~if~~-----r~=,?1;~
connectors .

Separate the armrest bezel (M) from the
armest box (N).

A

CAUTION

1.) To remove the armrest bezel ,
insert plastic trim tool (0).
See photo to the right.
2.) Be careful not to damage the
armrest bezel and box.
3.) Use shop towel underneath trim
tool for added protection

Pull the hinge pin (P) to remove it and then
remove the spring (Q) . Repeat on both
sides .

Remove armrest lid.

Remove the 3 screws (R) and then remove
the armrest lid cover (S).

CAUTION

Be careful to not damage leather when
removing lid cover.

NOTICE
1.) Reuse the removed
armrest lid cover
assembly (T).
2.) Confirm if any clips are
broken or damaged.

17 .

Install the new rear armrest lid cover.(U)

18 .

Reinstall all the removed parts in reverse order
of removal.
Verify operation of all disturbed components .

19.

Test operation of console lid by opening and
closing it.
Also , test rear seat entertainment controls for
proper operation .
