ATI Performance Products , Incorporated has advised General Motors that a potential defect which
relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain Powerglide transmissions that have been installed in
2013 model year Chevrolet COPO Camaros delivered during calendar year 2013. While there have
been no reports of customers having malfunctions with these transmissions , a post production park
test revealed that in some instances there is non-positive pa'rk engagement. This may result in a car
moving while the park position is engaged. If this occurs, there is a potential risk of bodily harm or
property damage . Consequently, ATI is conducting a safety, recall .
A total of 50 vehicles are involved. The attached list provides the Vehicle Identification Number of
each involved vehicle and is sprted by dealer Business Associate Code for easy reference . Also
attached is a copy of a letter that ATI will be mailing to the involved vehicle owners in the next few
days. The letter advises of the possible safety risk described above and instructs vehicle owners to
contact ATI as soon as possible. Once contacted , ATI will direct vehicle owners how to perform a
simple test to determine if their transmission has a non-positive park engagement. If the vehicle

passes the test, no fu rthe r action will be n quired . If the vehicle does not pass the test, ATI will
exchange th e transmission and torque ~onverter at no charge.
Even though all of the suspect Powerglide transmissions were installed in race vehicles and not in
street legal vehicles , this information is being provided in the event an involved veh icle owner
conta cts yo ur deale rship for assistance. In such cases, all labor and part costs associated with the
rep lacement of the transmission and torque converter should be billed directly to ATI. Before
perf orm ing this repair, dealers should contact-David Caine or Lynn Beattie at ATI for authorization to
pro ceed. Their telephone number is 1-890-284-3433.
