DESCRIPTION
On the vehicles affected by this bulletin, to prevent premature corrosion of the rear junction box
components, replace the junction box cover with a late model “central mount” cover.

Park vehicle safely, apply parking brake, stop engine. In the battery box, set the battery cut-off switch
to the OFF position prior to working on the vehicle.

Open the right side engine compartment to access the rear junction box and remove the junction
box cover.

On the fuse box back plate, drill a 3/8” (10mm) hole following the template and image below (move
away wires and harness as required).
3)
Insert a 3/8” stainless steel threaded rod of the correct length in the previously drilled hole (rod must
stick out of the new central mount cover about 1/2” min), secure the rod to the back plate using two
#500102 3/8 SS nuts, one on each side of the plate.

Install the #068704 washer on the rod (secured with a #500102 3/8 SS nut on both sides) at about
one inch below the cover wing nut flange.
5)
Install the old cover rubber seal on the new central mount cover and discard the old cover.
6)
Install the new cover on the rear junction box and tighten it in place using the #068765 wing nut
until the cover bottom-out on the rod flat washer.
