Special Process for Obtaining Software Using Regio-DVD and DVD Digital
Owner's Manual

NOTE: It is particularly important to update software for the new S-Class to meet customer
expectations.See the instructions below for updating Regio-DVD.
Installation of Regio DVDs
From model series 222 onwards, the control unit software ("Flashware") will no longer be
sent via telematics DVD/CD, but instead via the "Regio DVD". This will include the
customary software, as well as control unit software which is too large for the regular
diagnostic update data media.
You may order the DVD with the corresponding software version via the usual replacement
part ordering process by entering the HLI number for USA.
There are two installation options:
1. Installation of the entire Regio data medium for your region, either directly after
installation of the current diagnostic update or at a later stage.
2. Installation as required . If you have not installed the Regio DVD , however require
certain software from it for programming purposes, a XENTRY Flash screen will
appear and request that you insert the data medium immediately before
programming of the control unit.

Installation Procedure
1. Installation on XENTRY Kit
Supply XENTRY Connect and the Blu-ray
drive with power using the corresponding
power supply unit.

Note: Please only use the genuine power
supply units that are intended for the devices.

Connect the Blu-ray drive to XENTRY
Connect using the USB Y-cable supplied .
Make sure the XENTRY Connect is in
standby mode and then insert the Regio
• DVD .
Start the installation by pressing the key
combination on the XENTRY Connect
. operating panel (green tick + red cross) .
· This will trigger the "Start update?" message.
Press the green tick to confirm this message.

The following symbol appears in the XENTRY
Connect display once the installation is
complete:

· Press the button with the green tick to
complete the installation. The device will
· automatically switch off if the button is not
activated within 5 minutes.

Once the installation is complete, the
XENTRY Connect can be started as normal
and a connection made to it via XENTRY
Control.

2. Installation on Star Diagnosis
: Connect the DVD drive to your Star Diagnosis
device and insert the Regio DVD.
· Now start the "Regio DVD Updater" function
under "Programs" in the start menu.

Select "United States" from the list in order to
start the installation . If you wish to save the
selection for future processes, tick the box in
the line below.

You will be requested to insert a Regio DVD
with a specific HU number into the drive.
If you do not insert a Regio DVD, an error
message will appear on the screen with a
repeated request to carry out this step. If you
insert a Regio DVD with another HU number,
you will be asked whether you wish to
continue the installation with this DVD. In this
case , click on "No" and insert the correct
DVD.
Progress of the installation will be shown on
the screen using a green bar.
If the installation is interrupted, you will need
to start the process again.

By clicking on "OK", the installation will come
to an end and you may continue using your
diag11ostic device as normal.
Digital Owner's Manual DVD
The Digital Owners' Manual DVD (as of 5/20/2013) is ordered via Paragon. Before head unit is
updated, the Digital Owner's Manual DVD must be in the workshop.
Instructions for installing Regio-DVDs can be found in the Support Tool on the "XENTRY KIT' or in
the INFO information system on the Star Diagnosis System desktop.

1. Check in EVA whether vehicle affected.
2. Update Software
3. A "XENTRY Kit" or a "Star Diagnosis compact" Performance as of System number 170000
is essential for the required diagnostic and prog raming measure (multiplexer with DolP).
4. Regio DVD 07/20/2013 is required for software updates .
5. If earlier updates are needed , Update Regio DVD 05/2013 can be ordering in GLC/ELC.
