Technical background

The Active Carbon Filter hose (ACF) is fitted in between the ACF line one way valve and the charge
air cooler.
The springband clip which secures the ACF hose to the charge air cooler is to be replaced along with
the hose, the springband clip wh ich secures the ACF hose to the ACF line one way valve should also
be replaced.

Remedy
A new springband clip should be fitted along with the ACF hose. The springband clip wh ich secures
the ACF hose to the pu rge line one way valve should also be replaced.

Customer notification
Customers do not need to be informed of this campaign. Please ensure that all affected veh icles are
checked and repaired at Pre Delivery Inspection (POI) or during a service visit. You should also
inform your new and used car sales departments so that the vehicles affected can be checked and , if
necessary, repaired immediately (and not just before sale)

air cooler.
The springband clip which secures the ACF hose to the charge air cooler is to be replaced along with
the hose, the springband clip which secures the ACF hose to the ACF line one way valve should also
be replaced.

Check
If the vehicle is not already listed as repaired in "Repair history" (in Elsa Pro) check the vehicle for the
campaign completion paint mark which is a yellow paint confirmation mark on the engine oil dipstick
tube bracket (Figure 7), if it is evident that the campaign has not been applied carry out the requ ired
work in accordance with these instructions.

Before commencing work on and around the engine, ensure that it has cooled sufficiently, failure to
do so may cause injury to personnel.
1. Remove the engine cover - Refer to Workshop Manual Rep.Gr 10
2. Remove the three screws -arrows- (1 .5 Nm) and lift off the air filter cover (Figure 1)

3. Referring to Figure 2 - Remove the cable tie (Point A) disconnect the hose from the charge cooler
(Point B) and discard the springband clip

5. Feed the ACF hose under the induction hose towards the rear of the engine CAUTION: Take care
not to damage/bend the adjoining pipe
- Remove and discard the original hose and springband clip
6. Refit the new ACF hose - Installation is the reverse of removal noting the following :

The two springband clips are different sizes it is imperative the clips are fitted as detailed within the
remaining instructions.
The charge cooler springclip must be part number N907 702 01
The one way valve springclip must be part number N906 867 01
- Ensure the rearmost springband clip (N906 867 01) is positioned and secured as shown in Figure 5
with the clip lined up in between the yellow timing marks

- Feed the hose back under the air filter hose into the final fitting position CAUTION: Take care not to
damage/bend the adjoining pipe
- Position the 'P' clamp in between the two yellow timing marks as shown in Figure 6 ensuring the
correct orientation
- Secure the loom clip using the retaining stud CAUTION: Take care when refitting the stud as access
is tight, ensure the stud is not cross threaded before securing.

6. Using the new springband clamp (N907 702 01 ) reconnect the ACF hose to the charger coole r,
using a new cable tie secure the hose to the existing clip
- Refit the air filter cover
- Refit the engine cover - Refer to Workshop Manual Rep.Gr 10
7. Place a yellow paint confirmation on the engine oil dipstick tube bracket as shown in Figure 7
