Technical background
The check within this document has been put into place to confirm that the number 6 cylinder fuel
injector loom is correctly positioned, should the loom be incorrectly positioned contact between the
HVAC compressor spigot may occur.

Remedy
A production containment and quality check is now in place, a new specification loom will be
introduced at the end of 2012.

Customer notification
Customers do not need to be informed of this campaign. Please ensure that all affected vehicles are
checked and repaired at Pre Delivery Inspection (POI} or during a service visit. You should also
inform your new and used car sales departments so that the vehicles affected can be checked and, if
necessary, repaired immediately (and not just before sale)

both inspections require the front under sheet removing in order to carry out both campaigns. A
separate time of 30 Time units for the removal and refitting of the undersheet has been allocated to

Repair instructions
Technical background
The check within this document has been put into place to confirm that the number 6 cylinder fuel
injector loom is correctly positioned, should the loom be incorrectly positioned contact between the
HVAC compressor spigot may occur.

Check
If the vehicle is not already listed as repaired in the "Repair history" (in Elsa pro), check for the
campaign identification mark which is a small White paint dot located on the right hand lower face of
the front sub frame (Figure 1) should neither be evident carry out the required work in accordance with
these instructions

Work
1. With the front under sheet removed commence with the following instructions
- Referring to Figure 2, the operative should first locate the two viewing points on the vehicle
- Look into (Point A) and locate the HVAC compressor drive spigot which is above the left hand front
engine mount.

NOTE: Figure 3 is shown with the obstructing parts removed, this is for photographic purposes only,
no components should be removed whatsoever.
- Check that the loom (Figure 3 point A) is not in contact with the spigot or there are no witness marks
evident which would suggest contact with the HVAC spigot

2. Once satisfied that there is no contact between the spigot and the loom please carry out the
following check to clarify the loom is at the correct tension
(a) Feed a suitable tool between the aluminium cross member and the power steering pipe as shown
in Figure 4

(b) The tool should be carefully hooked around the loom in the position shown in Figure 5 point A.

IMPORTANT WARNING: Take extreme care during the next operation not to damage or disconnect
the securing clips (Figure 5 point B) whilst assessing the loom tension.

(c) With extreme care and using minimal effort gently check that the loom is not slack enough to
contact the spigot.
3. The second check required relates to the security of the loom clips
- The operative should shine a suitable light in between the engine mount bracket as shown in Figure
2 point B, the loom clips can now be seen - check that the two clips are secured to the engine
crankcase locating points
4. If the position and tension of the loom is found to be acceptable with no risk of contact with the
spigot and the clips are secure, place a white confirmation mark on the right hand lower face of the
front sub frame (Figure 1)
5. A DISS ticket should be raised if the following are found:
(a) The loom is found to be in contact with the spigot or the operative believes there is a risk of contact
between the spigot and loom
(b) The crankcase clips are found to be insecure
Please include as much information as possible. Await clarification from your TSC before commencing
with any other work.

Identification
Small White paint dot located on the right hand lower face of the front sub frame (Figure 1) should
neither be evident carry out the required work in accordance with the instructions
