Designed for maximum weight savings and increased fuel efficiency,
the FUELite and FUELite+ tandem axles are the first members of
Meritor’s 6x2 configuration axle family, the SoloDrive Series. Based
on the proven 160 Series and 17X EVO Series drive axles and
named after their two key benefits, the FUELite and FUELite+
tandem axles deliver nearly 400 pounds in weight savings versus a
standard 6x4 and provide an approximately two percent fuel
efficiency increase.*
*The fuel savings are estimates only. Actual fuel savings may
vary, and will depend on a variety of factors beyond Meritor
Inc.’s control, including load, vehicle type, driver performance,
distances traveled, vehicle speed, road conditions, etc.
DualTrac™ Housing Option
Additional features of the FUELite and FUELite+ tandem axles
include Meritor’s DualTrac™ housing that allows the option to run
wide-base single tires; a 2.31 to 4.10 ratio range to match your
application; and a 12.7 mm wall housing that’s compatible with
most current 40,000-pound air suspensions.

The pinion nut torque specification is 1475-1840 lb-ft
(2000-2500 N폷m). The pinion nut on this model requires the use of
a punch to lock the flange into two mating indentions. Refer to
Maintenance Manual MM-1516 for complete installation
instructions.
The pinion nut torque specification is 1000-1230 lb-ft
(1350-1670 N폷m). Refer to Maintenance Manual 5A for complete
installation instructions.
