Reason/ cause: Original Cummins coolant valve located at the coolant filter on the engine
may develop leaks after a period of time.
Solution: Replace coolant valve at coolant filter.

DART Coolant Valve Replacement
1. Park the bus and apply the parking brake.
2. Turn off main battery disconnect switch(es)
3. In the rear of the bus on the left side of the engine you will see the coolant filter.
4. Pinch off water lines to the filter head with 2 pairs of hose clamp pliers.
5. Remove hose clamps and pull hoses of existing valve.
6. Remove the 4 bolts from the top of the water filter head and remove.
7. Put the filter head in a vice.
8. Remove the water valve.
9. Apply pipe sealer to valve pipe threads and hose barb pipe threads.
10. Install new style water valve and hose barb.
11. Install filter head and tighten to 212 inch LBS.
12. Install new hose clamps on lines and put lines on the valve.
13. Tighten hose clamps until snug.
14. Remove both pairs of hose clamp pliers.
15. Turn both valves to open position.
16. Check for completeness of work.
17. Remove all tools from working area.
18. Turn the main battery disconnect switch(es) on.
19. Start engine and let idle for 5 minutes
20. Check for leaks
21. If no leaks are present, job is complete
