MX-13 EPA2010 Engine Software Updates to RC10/RC19

Introduction
Peterbilt has determined that the MX-13 EPA 2010 powered vehicles listed built between 01/02/2009 and
02/29/2013 are eligible for engine software updates. See the Resolution section of this bulletin for a description of
specific product improvement elements.
THIS EMISSIONS CAMPAIGN WILL NOT EXPIRE

Resolution
Service all chassis affected that enter your dealership, even if the customer has no issue with the chassis. Use the
procedure below. Review DWC or SIR online systems to verify that campaign “E105” is still open or already
completed prior to performing this repair.
Recommended Actions:
1. Check Transmission software – If the vehicle is equipped with an Ultrashift Plus transmission, it
must have the latest software release from Eaton.
2. Check DCU Software: Check to make sure the DCU has up-to-date software after the PMCI-2
and EAS-3 software is updated.
3. Check HC Doser Shield - Check to make sure the HC doser shield was installed on the vehicle. If
not, follow the instructions in Engine Bulletin E056 (HC Doser Shield Procedure ).
NOTE: There are a number of MX campaign bulletins published and a chassis subject to campaign E105 may be
subject to others. Review campaign codes in DWC, SIR, and/or PACCAR MX campaign summary bulletin E000 to
ensure all applicable repairs are completed while the chassis is at your dealership for service.
This software update offers the following operational improvements:
The DPF ash load is reset to 1g/L when the ACM is programmed. After 15 minutes of engine operation following
programming of the ACM, a deep clean DPF regeneration is triggered. Once the deep clean DPF regeneration is
complete, the ash load will be adjusted by the ACM to reflect actual DPF ash load.

Warranty
There is no time or mileage limit for this campaign, though the repair instructions may be superseded by future
engine software enhancement bulletins. Submit Quick Claim “E105”, including 0.8 hours labor for repairs.
Quick Claims cannot be used when filing claims for service performed on Kenworth Vehicles. Use the long claim input
form in DWWC by selecting Draft/Offline Claims, General tab, and in the Type of Claim drop down box, select
PACCAR Engine Claim. Use the claim codes listed below AND send an e-mail to PBDiv.CS.Campaigns@PACCAR.com
with the chassis # and Campaign # in the subject field:
Peterbilt will pay for parts at dealer net plus applicable mark-up and:
0.8 hours labor for software update. (Use Quick Claim Code E105).
File a long claim for extraordinary circumstances (which must be explained).
