Customer states the engine lacks performance and the MIL is ON with one or more of the following fault codes:

Technical Background
Corrosion at the pivot point of the wastegate rod and Charge Pressure Actuator rod can cause the joint to stick or
become seized.

Production Solution
As of CW15/14 the turbo is produced with a Charge Pressure Actuator rod with a higher chromium content to
decrease corrosion.

Service
Procedure:
• Perform GFF and the corresponding test plan(s) for the fault code(s) found in the ECM.
1. If GFF identifies a part to be faulty other than the Charge Pressure Actuator, this TB does not apply.
2. If GFF identifies the Charge Pressure Actuator as the faulty component perform the following procedure.
• Replace the Charge Pressure Actuator (repair kit for control motor) see Repair Manual Group 21, Charge
Pressure Actuator –V465-, Removing and Installing in ELSA.
Note:
Removal of turbocharger is not necessary to complete this repair.
Turbo chargers replaced for these fault codes without GFF instruction will be debited.
• In addition to the installation of the Charge Pressure Actuator, the Charge Pressure Actuator connecting rod to
wastegate rod joint needs to be lubricated with Hot Screw Paste (G 052 112 A3).
• After installation of the new Charge Pressure Actuator perform the basic settings per GFF.
