Title : Fuel Transfer Pumps on 4000 Models built at Garland between
5/22/07 and 11/20/07 May be Installed Backwards
Applies To : DuraStar (4300 and 4400) Models
DESCRIPTION
There are some DuraStar models (4300 and 4400 models) built at Garland Assembly (J in the
11th position of the VIN) built between 5/22/07 and 11/20/07 that the fuel transfer pump maybe
installed backwards. When this happens the transfer pump will pump from the right tank (draw
tank) to the left tank.
SYMPTOMS
• Running out of fuel
• Fuel not transferring
RESOLUTION
To correct the issue remove the transfer pump from the fuel lines and turn it 180 degrees so it
draws from the left fuel tank.
