Title : Pivot Shaft Service Kit compatibility for the EGR I-6 Borg Warner
turbocharger
Applies To : 2004-2006 EGR I-6 engines
DESCRIPTION
A design change in 2004 changed the casting shape of the exhaust side of the turbo body The original design
had a pointed body casting abutting to both sides of the pivot shaft housing. The re-designed body converted to
a round casting. The replacement flange will not fit the older design turbo. The turbo charger assembly will
need to be replaced.
SYMPTOMS
• Low power issues
• Turbo does not pass the bounce test
• Repair kit# 5010620R91 (Pivot Shaft Service Kit) will not mate with the turbo body design
