Introduction
This program is applicable to Peterbilt Model 579 vehicles manufactured before April 01, 2013. This bulletin provides
administrative directions to assist with retrofit of pre-production chassis fairings and hardware with current
production parts.
Expiration Date: 12/27/2014
Resolution
The vehicles listed on the chassis list have pre-production parts and those parts should be retrofitted with production
quality parts. See the attached chassis list for the parts list for your chassis.
Warranty
The SIR system will indicate chassis involved in this field repair with the designator “913-1” in the campaign field.
If the vehicle is affected and is shown to have an open campaign, please complete the work and file a new truck
claim with details shown below:

Parts
Parts are available from PACCAR Parts to the dealer via ground. (Which may take up to 1 week for the dealer to
receive parts.) Some parts may be on back order and will be shipped separately. Dealers need to be certain that all
parts have been received before scheduling the retrofit work.
Dealer will place an order for parts from PPD through Dealer Order Entry (DOE). Reference the chassis list for the
parts associated with each chassis.

Labor
Peterbilt will reimburse for 1.6 hours of labor, 0.8 hours per side to replace the fairings and/or brackets per the
attached procedure.
Please Note: For those few trucks that require chassis fairings, you will need to make arrangements for
getting those painted.

Reference Service Net Cab > Model 579 Cab – Hood starting at section 10 page 24 and the pages following for
removal and replacement instructions for the fairings.
