Sway bar end link fasteners may be improperly tightened.
APPLIES TO:
This bulletin applies to chassis cabs altered by Spartan Motors Chassis,
Inc. between February 17, 2011 and February 22, 2013. The affected
vehicles are equipped with an independent front suspension and hydraulic
brakes.
CORRECTION:
New fasteners and appropriate torque requirements.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Verify that isolator, isolator clamp, and spacer are intact. Refer to FIG. 2-1.

Torque - 18 lbs. ft.
Jam Nut
Torque - 34 lbs. ft.

Torque - 37 lbs. ft.

2. Remove upper jam nut and stud. Properly dispose of hardware.
NOTE: For the following instructions apply Loctite® 242® Thread locker to
the stud and bolt on the first five threads from end of either.
3. Install supplied stud, tighten until seated.
4. Torque stud to 18 lbs. ft.
5. Remove lower mounting bolt. Properly dispose of hardware.
6. Install supplied jam nut (to the previously installed upper mounting stud) and new lower bolt
finger tight.
7. Tighten jam nut and lower bolt alternating between the two until both are fully seated, this
will ensure the isolator clamp will not be distorted.
8. Torque jam nut to 34 lbs. ft. and bolt to 37 lbs. ft.
9. Repeat steps 1-8 for opposite side.

End Link Re-torque
10. Loosen and back off nut (approximately 2 turns) and re-torque nut to 97 lbs. in. Repeat for
both sides. Refer to FIG. 3-1.
