Introduction
Peterbilt Motors has decided that certain Model 579 vehicles built between January 23, 2012 and May 4, 2012, exhibit performance
issues with door locks, windows, and mirror controls.
Expiration Date: February 28, 2013
Resolution
Peterbilt has issued this field repair notice to replace parts and update software
Warranty
The SIR system will indicate chassis involved in this field repair with the designator “612-1” in the campaign field.
If the vehicle is affected and is shown to have an open campaign, please complete the work and submit a quick claim 612-1.
Parts
Parts are provided at no cost and the dealer will be reimbursed an additional hour of labor to compensate for parts handling.

Parts will be shipped at no charge to the dealer.
Parts will be shipped complete at one time.
Parts will be shipped by ground. Transit time is about 1 week.
The packing slip will have a Dealer Order Number of “RETRO CH 123456” and the kit P/N
Ensure that the Parts and Service Managers are both aware of this order.
Ensure your dealership has these parts in house before scheduling the customer in for this retrofit.
