REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE: Once the hoses are installed, verify all hoses are tight and there is no leaking.
1. Bring the unit into the shop using a ground guide. If performing repairs outside of a shop, use cones to isolate and secure the unit. Place wheel
chocks around the tires, lock out and tag out the unit following repair procedures, and use proper PPE to complete the job.
2. Place a drain pan under the steering gear box.
3. Remove the power steering cooler to reservoir, gear to cooler and pump to gear lines from the unit (Figure 1).

1. Hose #1 - Cooler to Resevoir
2. Hose # 2 - Gear to Cooler
3. Hose # 3 - Pump to Gear
4. Install the new power steering cooler to reservoir line (3837758C2), and the gear to cooler line (3837750C4), onto the unit (Figure 2).
5. Install the new power steering pump to gear line onto the unit (Figure 2).
A. Use 3841216C4 on units equipped with a 113” hood.
B. Use 3839352C5 on units equipped with a 122” hood.
6. Top off the power steering fluid reservoir using 15W40 engine oil.
7. Start the truck and turn the steering wheel all the way to the left, and right, several times to get air out of system.
8. Check the unit for leaks and top off the power steering reservoir, if needed.
