Update Prior to Sale: Right-Hand Rear Fog Lamp

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: A limited number of 2012 model year Jaguar XK vehicles may have been manufactured away from
process and in some cases the right-hand (RH) rear fog lamp may be incorrectly welded.
Action: Dealers are required to 'HOLD' the affected vehicles within your control and refrain from releasing the
vehicles for new or used vehicle sale pending completion of the rework action detailed in this Technical
Bulletin. For vehicles in dealer inventory, this UPS should be performed in conjunction with the vehicle PreDelivery Inspection (PDI). For vehicles in dealer inventory which have already had the PDI completed, this
UPS should be completed prior to final preparation / customer handover. For those vehicles already in the
hands of customers, this should be done at the next available opportunity prior to the expiration date.

WARRANTY:
NOTE: Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times / prices are subject to
change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Always refer to DDW to obtain the latest
repair time. Check DDW to ensure that the vehicle is affected by this Update Prior to Sale Notice prior
to undertaking any rework action. At the time of confirming a booking for vehicle repair, ensure that
all outstanding Service Actions are identified to ensure the correct parts are available and adequate
workshop time is allocated for repairs to be completed at one visit.
Warranty claims must be submitted quoting Program Code 'K128' together with the relevant Option Code
from the table. SRO and parts information is included for information only. The Option Code(s) that allows for
the drive in / drive out allowance can only be claimed if the vehicle is brought back into the workshop for this
action alone to be undertaken.
This Update Prior to Sale notice is valid for a limited time only. Warranty claims with a repair date prior to the
02 November 2012 closure date must be submitted for payment within 30 calendar days of completion of the
repair.

Normal Warranty policies and procedures apply
REPAIR PROCEDURE
REPLACE RIGHT-HAND REAR FOG LAMP
1. Convertible only: refer to Workshop Manual section 501-05:
Interior Trim and Ornamentation, and remove the luggage
compartment lid trim panel.
2. Coupe only: refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-05:
Interior Trim and Ornamentation, and remove the liftgate
lower trim panel.
3. Remove the right-hand (RH) reverse / fog lamp:
•

Remove the three (3) plastic nuts.

•

Disconnect the electrical connector.

CAUTION: Clean the contact areas on the lamp making
sure all grease and dirt is removed before installing the
foam surround.
4. Fit foam seal surround to new RH reverse / fog lamp:
•

Starting at the top of the new lamp, peel back the
protection and apply foam surround to lamp.

•

Cut off and discard any excess seal.

5. Install the new right-hand (RH) reverse / fog lamp:
•

Connect the electrical connector.

• Install the three (3) plastic nuts.
6. Convertible only: refer to Workshop Manual section 501-05:
Interior Trim and Ornamentation, and install the luggage
compartment lid trim panel.
7. Coupe only: refer to Workshop Manual, section 501-05:
Interior Trim and Ornamentation, and install the liftgate lower
trim panel.
