A bulb out warning is active in the instrument cluster’s driver information system display and one or both of the
rear side marker lights are burnt out.

Technical Background
Moisture and debris can enter into the lower taillight housing causing one or more of the bulbs to burn out.

Not applicable.

Service
Please visually inspect both lower taillight housings for any damage as they sit installed on the vehicle. If no
damage, caused by outside influence, can be found, then please proceed.

1. Uninstall both lower rear taillight housings.
Inspect the lens for any separation around the
edge of the taillight lens (Figure 2).

2. If there is any separation at all then please replace the complete taillight housing. Keep the good bulbs
and any wiring, and only replace the housing and any burnt out bulbs.
Inspect the bulb holders for corrosion and debris. Repair and clean as necessary.
Please indicate to the parts manager the part should not be scrapped. An automatic system request to
send back the taillight housing to AoA will be performed once the warranty claim is processed.
