Subject: CUSTOMER SATISFACTION CAMPAIGN VPG C1201 TURN SIGNAL LAMP
ASSEMBLY
Models Affected: SOME 2011 AND 2012 MODEL YEAR MV-1 VEHICLES WITH A VEHICLE
IDENTIFICATION NUMBER (VIN) AS LISTED

SERVICE INFORMATION
Some 2011 and 2012 model year MV-1 vehicles within the following VIN List, were built with
incorrectly manufactured turn signal lamp assemblies. Refer to the specific VINs listed in this
bulletin.
Investigations have determined that the wires to the socket end of the assemblies were reversed,
resulting in a circuit without an in-line fuse. This may reduce the life expectancy of the lamps and
require premature replacement outside the warranty period.
For involved vehicles, both the left and right turn signal lamp assemblies will be replaced, at no cost
to vehicle owners, with correctly manufactured parts.

OWNER NOTIFICATION
Owners with affected MV-1 vehicles will be contacted and requested to make arrangements with a
local dealer for campaign service. Campaign service will be performed at no cost to the owner. A
copy of the Owner’s Notification Letter is included with this bulletin.
Important: Some involved vehicles may be in Dealer Inventory (new or used), or in use
as demonstrator models. If so, these vehicles must have the campaign service
completed before retail delivery.

WARRANTY
The provisions of the normal warranty policy apply.

TIME
The time required to replace the front left and right turn signal lamp assembly is 0.4 hour. Labor
operation M121006, waranty type I, complaint code C1201, malfunction code 86.

PROCEDURE
1. Remove the 3 screws and the head lamp bezel (See Figure 1).
2. Disconnect the turn signal bulb connector.

NOTE: Before removing the turn signal lens, note the upward orientation of the
locating tab.

3. Remove the 3 speed nuts and the turn signal lamp assembly (See Figure 2).

4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the removal of the remaining turn signal lamp assembly.
5. Install a new turn signal lamp assembly and the 3 speed nuts and washers supplied in the kit.
Correct replacement assemblies can be identified by a yellow dot affixed to the housing.
6. Connect the turn signal bulb connector.
7. Install the head lamp bezel and the 3 screws.
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for the installation of the remaining turn signal lamp assembly.
9. Verify function of both turn signal and marker lamps.
10. Destroy and discard removed components.

Dear MV-1® Customer:
The satisfaction of our customers is very important to VPG. It is for this reason that we are
requesting owners of some 2011 and 2012 model year MV-1s return their vehicle to a MV-1
dealer for a special service.
The problem is . . .

Your MV-1 vehicle was built with incorrectly manufactured turn
signal lamp assemblies. Investigations have determined that the wires

What your MV-1
Dealer will do . . .

Your dealer will replace both the left and right turn signal lamp
assemblies with correctly manufactured parts.

What you must do . . .

Contact your MV-1 Dealer immediately to schedule an appointment
for this important service. REFERENCE CAMPAIGN NUMBER
VPG C1201.

Enclosed herewith you will find information about the Customer Satisfaction Campaign for the
turn signal lamp assemblies. Please review this material carefully. Owners will be instructed to
contact you to arrange for an appointment.
Some vehicles involved in this campaign service may be in Dealer Inventory (new or used) or in
use as demonstrator models. If so, these vehicles must have this campaign service completed
before retail delivery.
You will be receiving an initial quantity of kits required to perform the subject campaign service.
Please order additional kits as necessary through DCS or contact our parts department for
assistance. You will receive these kits during the week of June 4, 2012.
Owners will be notified via U.S. mail of this campaign service during the week of June 11, 2012.
To minimize customer confusion, your cooperation is requested. PLEASE DO NOT make
unsolicited contact with owners informing them of this campaign. All of the vehicles involved in
this campaign have been identified and owners are being individually notified to bring their
vehicle in for service.
