SUBJECT: 2012 Mazda6 Lock Position Stamp Missing on Rear Door Child Safety Locks
Special Service Program (SSP) 88
Mazda Motor Corporation has decided to conduct a special service program on certain 2012
Mazda6 vehicles produced from August 31, 2011 through October 14, 2011.
Some 2012 Mazda6 vehicles are missing the metal stamping on the rear door next to the child
safety locks to indicate the locked position. The rear door child safety locks are fully operational,
but dealers are to install a sticker indicating the locked position on both rear doors adjacent to the
child safety locks. Please refer to Attachment I for details.
Please perform SSP88 on all affected vehicles in dealer stock prior to demonstration or sale.
Owners of subject vehicles will be notified by first class mail beginning January 25, 2012.
