SHE PRESSED THE BUTTON AT THAT MOMENT THE VEHICLE CAME OUT OF PARK AND WENT INTO REVERSE NEARLY RUNNING HER OVER SHE TRIED TO GET IN BUT THE VEHICLE TOOK OFF TO FAST SHE WAS KNOCKED OVER MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE CAR ROLLING OUT OF CONTROL DOWN THE DRIVE WAY. THE VEHICLE FOLLOWED THE DRIVEWAY DOWN CROSSING THE MAIN ROAD ONLY DOING SOME LIGHT DAMAGE WHERE IT RAN OVER THE MAIL BOX AND STOPPED BY HITTING A TREE. WE CONTACTED KIA AND OUR INSURANCE. KIA OPENED A CASE #K3237787 AND THEN THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED SINCE. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED AND LEFT IT THERE. WE HAVE STILL NO ANSWERS WHAT THEY ARE PLANNING TO DO WITH THIS VEHICLE. THIS EVENT HAPPENED ON 7-25-2016. I CALLED AMERICAN HONDA TWICE TO PROTEST THE WAY MY BIKE IS NOW OPERATING WHEN I USE MY REAR BRAKES - THE BIKE SHUTTERS AND VIBRATES WHENEVER I USE MY REAR BRAKES WHICH IN MY OPINION OF BEING A VERY EXPERIENCED MOTORCYCLE RIDER OF 15+ YEARS. YOU END UP WITH NO BRAKES ON ANY TRAILER YOU TOW THAT HAS ELECTRIC BRAKES. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I WAS LUCKY THAT MY TRAILER WAS NOT CONNECTED AT THE TIME OF THE FAULT. I WATCHED IN HORROR AS 3 OF MY 5 DOGS JUMPED OUT AND 1 RAN INTO THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS DOG, MY MALE COLLIE, RAN TO MY HUSBAND WHEN HIS NAME WAS CALLED, AND JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME, AS AN 18 WHEELER WAS LOCKING UP HIS BRAKES TO TRY AN AVOID KILLING HIM. HE STATED THAT ANOTHER CUSTOMER HAD COME IN COMPLAINING OF THE REAR HATCH DOOR OPENING UP WHILE THE VAN WAS BEING DRIVEN. HE STATED THAT THE SERVICE TECHNICIANS HAVE TO BE ABLE SEE THE PROBLEM HAPPENING TO ASSESS THE SITUATION FOR REPAIR, SO HE REPLACED THE KEY FOB STATING THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING THE PROBLEMS, BUT IF ANOTHER INCIDENT OF THIS SORT HAPPENS, TO COME BACK. BACK IN JAN 2016, I PULL THE JEEP OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND TRY TO PUT IT IN DRIVE AND GIVE IT GAS, IT WOULD NOT MOVE. SEEMED LIKE IT WAS IN A HIGHER GEAR (4 OR 5) INSTEAD OF 1ST GREAT. I TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND THEN BACK ON. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND I WAS ABLE TO ATLEAST DRIVE IT TO PICK UP MY KID AT THE BUS STOP BUT IT WAS RUNNING EXTREMELY ROUGH. I BROUGHT IT IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY SAID IT'S NOT THE TRANS BUT THEY DID REPLACE A CAMSHAFT SENSOR. STILL EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH THE SHIFTS AFTER REPLACING THE SENSOR. JUST THIS PAST WEEK THE VEHICLE STOPPED DRIVING WHILE MY WIFE AND 2 KIDS WERE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY IN NJ. THE JEEP WAS STILL RUNNING, AC WAS ON, ALL THE LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE POWER STEERING ALSO STOPPED WORKING. LUCKILY, MY WIFE WAS ABLE TO MUSCLE THE CAR ONTO THE SHOULDER. WE CALLED SERVICE DEPT AND THEY SENT A TOW TRUCK. THE DRIVER GOES TO PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT GOES FORWARD, NOT ONCE BUT TWICE! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS VEHICLE!
