Summary of Complaint
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN; I HAVE A 2015 DODGE LONGHORN LARIME 4X4 DIESEL PICK UP THAT IS EQUIPPED WITH DEF SYSTEM. I WAS SURPRISED WHEN THE DEF LIGHT CAME ON MY INSTRUMENT DASH TELLING ME TO SEE A DEALER AND INFORMING ME I HAD 150 MILE COUNT DOWN BEFORE GOING INTO "LIMP" MODE WHICH MY PICK UP WOULD ONLY BE DERIVABLE AT "5 " MILE AN HOUR. I WAS RETURNING FROM A VA DOCTORS APPOINTMENT AND AM A DISABLED VIETNAM AMPUTEE AND HAD TO DRIVE HOME WITH ONLY 12 MILES REMAINING BEFORE THE PICK UP WENT INTO "LIMP MODE ".. I HAD TO CANCEL 3 DOCTORS APPOINTMENTS AND BEING ON A FIXED INCOME HELD HOSTAGE BY THE LIMP MODE TO BE ABLE TO TAKE MY DODGE TO A REPAIR SHOP BUT FINDING OUT ONLY A DODGE DEALER CAN FIX MY CODE AND REPAIR MY DODGE P/U.. I COULD NOT AFFORD THE REPAIR AND OWNED A 72.000.00 DOLLAR PICK UP THAT WAS RIGGED TO FAIL AND ONLY BE REPAIRED BY ITS MANUFACTURER ! MY COMPLAINT IS FOR MEDICAL REASONS FOR CONSUMERS WHO HAVE MEDICAL REASONS TO NOT BE IMPRISONED BY THEIR VEHICLE BECAUSE OF A WORTHLESS DEF LAW THAT EVERY MECHANIC SAID WAS A EXPENSIVE PIECE OF CRAP .THAT EVERY DEALER WHO SELLS DIESEL VEHICLES WILL PROFIT FROM 1000.00-3000.00 TO FIX. IT COST 2850.00 TO CLIP A HOSE BACK ON AND PLACE A SPECIAL ONLY SHAPE DEF PUMP IN MY DODGE BY A DODGE DEALER.. WHILE WAITING FOR MY DODGE IN THE WAITING ROOM WAS INFORMED BY 2 OTHER COSTUMERS OF DODGE THAT ONE OF THE PEOPLE TALKED TO HAD HIS DEF GO OUT 4 TIMES AND THE OTHER GENTLEMEN WAS ON HIS 2ND DEF REPAIR AT DEALER HIGH COST TO FIX.. FOR MEDICAL REASONS I AM COMPLAINING THAT THE DEF SYSTEM IS A CON AND A SCAM FOR ITS COST AND CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BE USED IN EMERGENCY OR MEDICAL INSTANCES AND THE COST TO FIXED INCOME CUSTOMERS AND DANGEROUS TO PEOPLE TO MAKE DOCTORS OR HOSPITAL APPOINTMENTS AND COULD CAUSE SOMEONE TO LOOSE THEIR LIFE BECAUSE OF THE DEF CRIPPLING THEIR VEHICLE.. THE DEF SYSTEM IS A NEEDLESS MINOR CONTRIBUTION TO THE ENVIRONMENT THAT IS A OBVIOUS SCAM TO PROFIT THE AUTO DEALERS ..
