EXPERIENCING ISSUES FILLING GAS TANK IN HOT WEATHER TRAVELING TO BAR HARBOR MAINE FROM NEW BEDFORD MA DISTANCE OF APPROX 335 MILES ON JULY 10 2011 STOPPED TO GAS UP IN BAR HARBOR ME TOOK ME APPROX 10 MINUTES TO PUT IN 10 GALLONS OF GAS MY TANK WAS NOT FILLED UP. HOSE NOZZLE KEPT ON SHUTTING PUT THE NOZZLE VARIOUS POSITIONS NO GOOD, INSERTED NOZZLE PARTIALLY IN WAS ABLE TO SEE FUEL BACKING UP FUEL WAS GURGLING BEGAN TO COME OUT OF THE FUEL FILLER NECK STOPPED FUELING. NEXTDAY NOT TRAVELING TO FAR VEHICLE WEATHER COOL WAS ABLE TO FILL 11 GALLONS OF GAS WITH NO PROBLEM. HAPPEN THIS PAST MARCH IN FL THIS IS NOT FIRST TIME HAS HAPPENED, HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE OWNING VEHICLE FOUND DRIVING ESPECIALLY OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS HOT LONG DISTANCE IT WILL DO THIS I DO NOT OVERFILL TANK HAD MY CHEVROLETROADTREK CHECKED AT TWO CHEVROLET
DEALERSHIPS WITHIN TWO WEEKS THEY SCANNED VEHICLE FOR ANY STORED CODES COMMAND TESTED VENT VALVE IS OPERATING BOTH DEALERS AGREE PROBLEM IS WITH THE CONVERSION AS GAS TANK FUEL NECK, LENGTH OF GAS LINE WAS MODIFIED BY ROADTREK VEHICLE RAISED INSPECTED POSSIBLY HAVE KINK BEND IN FILLER HOSE AND OR VENT LINE NOT VISIBLE DUE TANK BRACKETRY ADDED TO UNDERSIDE OF VEHICLE FUEL FILLER NECK ORIGINALLY IN CENTER OF VEHICLE NOW AT END OF VEHICLE FUEL FILLER HOSE AND VENT LINES GO FROM VERY REAR OF VEHICLE UP TO TANK NOW LOCATED UP FRONT LINES ALL BENDDIP ALSO GO UP AND CURVE I AM NOT THE FIRST OWNER TO HAVE THIS PROBLEM THERE HAVE BEEN OTHERS OWNING A CHEVROLET-ROADTREK EXPRESS 3500 EXTENDED CONVERSION CAMPER VAN WITH SAME ISSUE THEY WERE UNABLE TO SEE MID SECTION LINEAGE DUE TO TANK MY SELLING DEALER CAMPERS INN RAYNHAM MA HAS BEEN VERY HELPFUL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ROADTREK REGARDING A FIX AS I HAVE BEEN INFORMED THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER ROADTREK OWNERS AND THEY HAVE A FIX I AM CONCERNED THAT AN EXPLOSION FIRE COULD HAPPEN WITH WHEN FUELING. *TR
