Summary of Complaint
WE HAVE A 2001 FORD TAURUS THAT HAS A BROKEN COIL SPRING IN REAR OF THE CAR. THE FRACTURED PIECE OF THE SPRING IS RIGHT BESIDE THE TIRE IN THE REAR OF THE CAR. IN ADDITION TO THIS DANGER WHEN THE SPRING BROKE IT ALLOWED THE BACK OF THE CAR TO SET SO FAR DOWN THAT YOU CAN NOT EVEN PLACE 1 FINGER BETWEEN THE TOP OF THE TIRE AND THE FENDER WELD NOW. THE CAR WOULD CONSISTANTLY RUB THE TIRES IF WE TRY TO DRIVE IT. I HAVE CALLED FORD MOTOR ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD NOT HAD ANY OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT REAR SPRING BREAKAGE SO THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME. NOW HOWEVER AFTER READING THIS WEBSITE I SEE THAT I AM IN A CLASS OF OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS - I DO LIVE IN OHIO WHICH AFTER READING MORE ON YOUR SITE I REALIZE THAT WE ARE IN THE AREA THAT THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE HAPPENING TO ALOT. AFTER SPEAKING TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP ABOUT MY PROBLEMS I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT REAR COIL SPRING BREAKAGE ON THESE TAURUS'S IS ONE OF THE MOST SEEN PROBLEMS IN HIS SHOP. PLEASE CONTINUE YOUR INVESTIGATION - IF IT MAKES FORD FIX THESE PROBLEMS AND 1 LIFE IS SAVED - IT WOULD BE WORTH ALL OF THE COMPLAINING AND NAGGING WE HAVE HAD TO DO TO GET THEM TO STEP UP AND REPAIR THEIR DEFECTIVE PARTS. *TR
