Summary of Complaint
I JUST WANTED TO MAKE YOUR ORGANIZATION AWARE OF THIS CONTINUED PROBLEM. ON THE 19TH OF DECEMBER 2007 MY DAUGHTERS EXPERIENCED A MAJOR BREAKDOWN WITH HER 2000 LINCOLN LS. SHE WAS SLOWING TO A STOP SIGN WHEN THE PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL COLLAPSED AND THE BODY OF THE CAR DROP ONTO THE TIRE. AFTER HAVING THE CAR TOWED TO A MIDAS SHOP IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE BALL JOINT NUT HAD WORKED ITS WAY OFF OF THE BOLT AND THE BOLT THEN BROKE UNDER THE PRESSURE. AFTER TALKING WITH THE MECHANIC STAFF AT THE MIDAS SHOP, (WHO HAD NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS), I DECIDED TO LOOK ON YOUR WEBSITE FOR POSSIBLE RE-CALL ISSUES FOR THIS PROBLEM. I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE THAT MORE THAN 83K OF THIS YEAR & MODEL VEHICLE HAD BEEN RE-CALLED. I THEN RAN MY DAUGHTER'S CAR'S VIN THROUGH THE SYSTEM ONLY TO FIND IT HAD NOT BEEN RE-CALLED. I WOULD AT THIS TIME LIKE TO REPORT THAT HER CAR AS I'M SURE OTHERS THAT WERE PRODUCED DURING THE SAME TIME HAS THE SAME DEFECT OR ASSEMBLY OVERSIGHT. THANKFULLY THIS INCIDENT DID NOT RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT RECOURSE MILEAGE: 100677 RESPONSE FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY; WE HAVE REVIEWED YOUR SITUATION, AND THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES, RECALLS OR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAMS ON YOUR VEHICLE THAT WOULD PROVIDE ASSISTANCE FOR THIS REPAIR. *TR
