I SPOKE WITH FORD AND UNLESS THE RECALL INCLUDES THIS VIN THEY WILL NOT REPAIR AS A RECALL, BUT RATHER AT MY EXPENSE. I WAS TRAVELLING IN THE MIDDLE LANE OF A 3 LANE HIGHWAY GOING APPROXIMATELY 60 MILES PER HOUR AND THE VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME BRAKED HARD CAUSING ME TO BRAKE HARD AS WELL. IT WAS A RAINY MORNING AND THE ABS ACTIVATED AND I FELT THE BRAKE PEDAL SOFTEN AND GO DOWN ABOUT ANOTHER INCH WHERE IT STILL PROVIDED BRAKING BUT I CAN FEEL THAT IT IS LOWER THAN BEFORE AND THERE IS A POINT AT WHICH I CAN FEEL THE BRAKES BUT STILL NEED TO DEPRESS FURTHER TO ACHIEVE GOOD STOPPING. I RECENTLY WENT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR AN ALIGNMENT, THE ALIGNMENT WOULD NOT HOLD AND THEY BROKE A BRAKE LINE. WHEN THE DEALER WENT TO PRICE OUT THE BRAKE LINE THEY DISCOVERED THE FRAME WAS ALL ROTTED OUT AND WOULD NOT REPAIR THE LINE. I WAS TOLD IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO PUT ON A LIFT DO TO THE FRAME ROT. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THE RECALL ON THE FRAME HAD EXPIRED AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. THE DEALER PROVIDED THE 800 NUMBER FOR TOYOTA, I CALLED THEM AND RECEIVED THE SAME INFO, THE TIME PERIOD FOR THE FRAME RECALL EXPIRED. I DID WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE TIME FRAME, I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN AND TOLD THE FRAME WAS FINE. ALL THE UNDERCOATING THEY DID ONLY MASKED THE ISSUE . THE FRAME IS NOW ALL ROTTED ONLY A FEW YEARS LATER AND TOYOTA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND FIX IT. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 JEEP LIBERTY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE IN LINE AT A FAST FOOD DRIVE THRU, THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING AN ABNORMAL SQUEAKING SOUND AS THE CONTACT BEGAN TO COAST FORWARD, WITHOUT WARNING. AS HE PROCEEDED TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE LOWER BALL JOINT SEPARATED FROM THE CONTROL ARM RESULTING IN AN UNKNOWN FLUID LEAKING FROM THE VEHICLE. BECAUSE OF THE BALL JOINT SEPARATION, THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRE POPPED OUT OF PLACE. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO HIS RESIDENCE. THE FOLLOWING DAY THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A FRACTURED CONTROL ARM THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT THEN CALLED DELLEN CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE (2640 W. MAIN ST, GREENFIELD, IN 46140) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V278000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
