Chronology :
In late January 2022, a customer reported that it had observed one of the trucks in its fleet appeared to have a smaller fender bracket than the other trucks. 2022, McNeilus identified another instance of a smaller sized fender bracket having been installed. McNeilus initiated an investigation of the issue and found that the parts for the fender bracket option selected by the customer was not being provided at the production facility and an alternate part was being used as a substitute. Between February – March 2022, McNeilus analyzed the build records and customer selected options to understand whether other vehicles may have been potentially affected. Based on McNeilus’ review, eight vehicles were identified as potentially having the incorrect smaller sized fender bracket installed. On May 19, 2022, determined that a safety defect may exist in the affected population and would conduct a recall in the field to correct the issue. McNeilus is not aware of any incidents in the field where the tire has come into contact with the fender bracket or other hardware.
