What is being recalled?
Micro Bird has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in MBII models, built on Ford chassis, year models 2019 propane-powered school buses manufactured between March 20th, 2019 and June 30th, 2019, equipped with a main battery cut-off switch.
Why is it being recalled?
Micro Bird has determined that, in propane-powered vehicle equipped, as per supplier instructions, the propane conversion controller grounding wire is attached directly on the main battery ground post. Following relocation, after deactivation of the cut-off switch the propane module may fail, preventing the engine from starting, or a short-circuit may occur. If a short-circuit occurs, a fire may ignite in the engine compartment
What is the safety issue?
In case of short-circuit, a fire may ignite in the engine compartment.
