High Voltage System may Short

A loss of power can increase the risk of a crash.

Summary

Arcimoto Inc. (Arcimoto) is recalling certain 2019 FUV vehicles. The braided shielding of the high-voltage harness may short against an energized component causing a main fuse to blow, resulting in a loss of drive power.

 

Remedy

Arcimoto will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the harness and replace it, as necessary, free of charge. The manufacturer began owner notifications on January 17, 2020. Owners may contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

 

Arcimoto has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2019 model year FUVs.

► You should contact Arcimoto to schedule the repair at no charge

 

Why is your vehicle being recalled?

Due to assembly variation of a high-voltage harness, braided shielding may incorrectly ground to a non-ground conductor. This could introduce the possibility of a high-voltage system short, which would lead to an immediate loss of traction power without warning, making the vehicle more difficult to control and increasing the likelihood of a crash.

 

What will we do?

The incorrectly assembled high-voltage harnesses will be replaced with a correctly assembled component. The replacement will be performed at no cost and can take up to one hour to complete.
