Fuel Pump Gasket Causing Fuel leak/FMVSS 301
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.

Summary
Vantage Mobility International, LLC (Vantage) is recalling certain 2014-2017 AMS Edge II vehicles. The fuel pump gasket may deteriorate, allowing fuel to leak. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 301, “Fuel System Integrity.”
Remedy
Vantage has notified owners, and repair facilities will replace the fuel tank with a redesigned fuel tank, free of charge. The recall began on January 28, 2019. Owners may contact Vantage customer service at 1-800-488-9082.

SCOPE
This document provides detailed instructions for removing the interior of the Dodge RT for the EDGE II conversion
CONTENTS
1. Raise vehicle on lift and place fuel tank jack under fuel tank. Lower vehicle until fuel tank is approx. an inch off fuel tank jack. With a 9/16” Socket, remove the two lock nuts at the front of the tank as shown. Save the hardware for reinstallation
2. At the rear of the fuel tank, use a 7/8” Socket to remove the two bolts as shown. Save all hardware for reinstallation
3. With the tank now resting on the fuel tank jack, raise the vehicle approx. 12 inches. Disconnect the two hoses at the front of the vapor canister using the directions shown.
4. Disconnect fuel pump wire harness using directions shown
5. Disconnect the Fuel Feed and Return line quick connects at the back of the Fuel Tank using the same technique as detailed in step 3
6. At the driver side rear wheel well, remove the three clips at the bottom of the liner then remove the liner
7. Disconnect the quick connect from the filler neck using the technique detailed in step 3
8. At the driver side rear corner of the tank, use a 10mm socket to loosen the hose clamp around the filler neck. Remove the rubber hose from the fuel tank.
9. Raise vehicle all the way up and remove old fuel tank from under the vehicle
10. Set new fuel tank assembly SA7255 on top of fuel tank stand with fuel tank straps slid underneath as shown
11. Position new tank under vehicle and reconnect the pump the harness through the floor as shown
12. Connect the vapor lines to the front of the vapor cannister by pressing the quick connects onto the male fittings until they click
13. At the driver side rear wheel well, connect the quick connect to the filler neck by pressing the quick connects onto the male fittings until they click. Reinstall the wheel well liner and press the three clips back into their original locations
14. Tie the vapor line to the filler neck with zip ties as shown. Cut the excess zip tie with side cutters.
15. Reconnect the feed and return lines to the quick connects at the back of the tank. 5/16 hose to 5/16 quick connect and 3/8 hose to 3/8 quick connect. Press the fittings together until they click
16. Reconnect the filler neck to the tank and tighten the hose clamp with a 10mm socket
17. At the back of the tank, by hand, thread in all the hardware from the rear tank strap. Then tighten the bolts with a 7/8 socket
18. At the front of the tank, align the passenger side tank strap with the beveled edge of the tank as shown
19. By hand, thread the hardware for the front tank straps onto the stud at the front of the tank. Using a 9/16 socket, fasten the lock nut down
20. Torque the four fuel tank strap bolts to 30 ft-lbs then mark the bolts with a paint stick to indicate they have been torqued
21. Install heat shield between the tank and the exhaust. With a 9/16 socket drive two self-tapping screws through the heat shield into the locations shown
22. Make sure heat shield isn’t touching the exhaust. Bend as necessary.

Dear AMS (VMI) Edge II Conversion Owner,
This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. Vantage Mobility International (VMI) has determined that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in its Chrysler/Dodge AMS converted Edge II rear entry mobility vehicle.

What Is Being Recalled
All Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan minivans modified by AMS into a Edge II conversion, shipped between Jan 1, 2018 and September 5, 2018, are recalled by AMS. Your mobility manufacturer will have access to the complete list of affected vehicles identified by FCA’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). The VIN is a 17-digit identifier that includes both numbers and letters. It can be found on the OEM sticker, located inside the driver’s side door jamb or on the driver’s side dash board, visible from the exterior facing the windshield.
The affected population is 13 vehicles.
Why Is It Being Recalled
The fuel tank was assembled with a fuel pump/ sending unit gasket that could deteriorate and fail over time. This may lead to the escapement of fuel or fumes. If the gasket fails, you may notice a continual fuel smell or experience a fuel leak. These symptoms are hazardous and my result in exposure risk including headache our nausea, fire or explosion whose severity could include injury or death and/or damage to property.
What AMS (VMI) Will Do
AMS has replacement parts available at no charge that will be made available to your local repair facility. AMS will include factory authorized instructions with the parts and technical support via email or phone to your repair facility to insure the tank assembly is replaced correctly. Any additional materials required and all labor costs will be covered by AMS. The estimated time to complete this repair on your vehicle will be approximately 4 hours.
After an attempt to take advantage of this recall, you may submit a complaint if you believe your fuel tank recall was not remedied without charge and/or within a reasonable amount of time. Please contact:

What You As Owner/Dealer/Operator Should Do
Immediately call your local AMS manufacturer at 1 (855) 809-1627 to schedule your vehicle for the fuel tank assembly replacement. Inform them at the time of the call that you are calling in response to this recall letter. They will work with you and your local repair facility to schedule your appointment and the shipment of parts. If you have difficulty doing this, please contact VMI directly at (800) 488-9082 for assistance.
What If You No Longer Own The Vehicle?
Please call AMS at the number listed below and forward the new owner’s contact information for proper and timely notification.
If you are the lessor of this vehicle, please forward a copy of this notice to the lessee within ten days to comply with federal regulations.
If you have already paid to have your AMS Edge II repaired for this condition, you may be eligible for reimbursement of the charges you paid for the repair. To learn more about what you need to do to obtain reimbursement, please call AMS Technical Support at 1 (855) 809- 1627.

7. Disconnect the quick connect from the filler neck using the technique detailed in step 3 8. At the driver side rear corner of the tank, use a 10mm socket to loosen the hose clamp around the filler neck. Remove the rubber hose from the fuel tank.
