Summary
Baby Trend, Inc. (Baby Trend) is recalling certain Hybrid 3-in-1 Combination Booster Seat-Desert Blue child seats. The latch assembly webbing that secures the child restraint system to the lower anchorages may fray, which can reduce the strength of the webbing and fail to properly restrain a child in a crash. As such, these child seats fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 213, “Child Restraint Systems,” and 209, “Seat Belt Assemblies.”
Remedy
Baby Trend, Inc. will mail owners a replacement latch assembly webbing and installation instructions, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 30, 2023. Owners may contact Baby Trend customer service at 1-800-328-7363.

Description of Remedy : Description of Remedy Program : Baby Trend, Inc. is recalling from consumers a specific LATCH assembly strap on certain past production of 2,600 Baby Trend Hybrid 3-in-1 car seat, model number FB49E14A, 12/06/2021 date coded product only. No current retail or online inventory is involved. The LATCH webbing strap allegedly failed the minimum initial breaking strength requirements under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 209. Most importantly, Baby Trend has received ZERO reports of incidents in connection with the use of the car seats subject of this recall. Owners can continue to safely use the car seat as instructed and should replace the LATCH assembly as soon as the replacement strap becomes available from the Company. The vehicle seat belt may also be used safely in lieu of the LATCH assembly as outlined in the current product instruction manual. Baby Trend will directly provide owners with a replacement LATCH assembly strap free of charge. Owner notification letters will be mailed within 60 days of publication. In the meantime, owners of the specific model and date code can visit the Baby Trend website and click the “Recall and Safety Notices” button for more information and Owners of the specific model and date code should register their car seats online at https://babytrend.com/pages/product-registration if they have not already done so.
