Incorrect Ramp Capacity Label

If the ramps are overloaded, the ramps may fail, increasing the risk of personal injury.

 

Summary

DS Corp, doing business as Crossroads RV, is recalling certain model year 2015 Crossroads Z1 trailers manufactured June 26, 2014, to January 14, 2015. The affected toyhauler trailers have front loading ramps that state a maximum load capacity of 700 pounds when the actual maximum load capacity is 500 pounds.

 

Remedy

Crossroads RV will notify owners, and supply with them with corrected load capacity labels to place over the existing labels, free of charge. The recall began February 3, 2015. Owners may contact Crossroads RV at 1-855-886-7496. Crossroads RV’s number for this recall is 35.

Dear Dealer:

This Notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the United States National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act and the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

Crossroads has decided that certain Z-1 travel trailers were built with the incorrect labels on the front loading ramps which indicate the maximum weight allowed on the loading ramps. The incorrect label that was placed on the ramps indicated a maximum weight rating of 700 lbs. but the correct value should be 500 lbs. Other trailer models manufactured by Crossroads during this time period are not included in this recall.

The remedy is to place the supplied labels directly over the existing labels on the ramps.

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act. CrossRoads RV (CrossRoads) has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain model 2015 Z-1 travel trailers. As a result, CrossRoads is conducting a safety recall.  We apologize for any inconvenience this action may cause you; however your safety and continued satisfaction are of the utmost importance to us.

Reason for this recall It has been decided that certain Z-1 travel trailers were built with the incorrect label on the front loading ramps which indicates the maximum weight allowed on the loading ramps. The incorrect labels indicated a maximum weight rating of 700 lbs. but the correct value should be 500 lbs.
What we will do CrossRoads has enclosed the corrected labels to remedy the situation.
What we need you to do At your earliest convenienec, apply the new cargo loading labels directly over top of the existing labels on your trailer.  If you have questions concerning this recall or if you need any assistance, please contact the CrossRoads Warranty/Service Department by mail at Crossroads RV Inc., P.O. If you had appropriate repairs completed prior to receipt of this recall notice, and if you incurred any direct cost in connection with obtaining such repair, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement from CrossRoads by contacting the CrossRoads Warranty/Service Department.
